Effective 16 September 2026
We want this site to work for anyone who wants to read it. This page says what we have built for, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.
The standard we aim at
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the benchmark generally used for public websites. This is a statement of what we have built and tested for, not a claim of formal audit or certification.
What we have done
- Motion respects your settings. If your system asks for reduced motion, the sliding between sections, the scroll animations, the counting figures and the moving background all switch off.
- The site works from the keyboard. Left and right arrows move between sections. Page Up, Page Down, Home and End move within one. Tab reaches every link, field and button in a sensible order, and sections that are off screen are taken out of the tab order rather than left as invisible traps.
- Text is real text. Nothing here is a picture of words. Pages zoom and reflow down to phone width.
- Structure is marked up, with headings, landmarks, labelled form fields and alternative text on images.
- Contrast of body text and interface elements has been checked against the AA thresholds.
- Nothing needs a mouse, a trackpad gesture, or colour alone in order to be understood.
What we know is imperfect
- Scrollbars are hidden. The site scrolls with the wheel, the keyboard and touch, but it does not show a scrollbar, which takes away one visual cue about how much of a section is left.
- Scrolling moves section by section rather than freely, which can feel unfamiliar at first.
- The background reacts to the pointer on devices with a mouse. It switches off under reduced-motion settings.
- We have tested with keyboard navigation and automated checks. We have not yet run a full audit alongside people who use assistive technology day to day.
